As the current insecurity situation in Nigeria degenerates to something else, Nigerian hunters have eventually come out to seek from the Federal Government recognition and opportunity to assist Security agencies in tackling the insecurity situation in the country, saying they are ready and willing to help and assist the Government of the day to end the current Security mess in the country.

The hunters under the auspecies of Hunters Group of Nigeria (HGN) on Tuesday (yesterday) stormed the National Assembly complex in Abuja (the venue of Public Hearing) to seek for opportunity and recognition under the law so as to assist the federal government in tackling the curbing insecurity in the land.

The Commandant of the Akwa Ibom State Command of the organisation, John Essien, who spoke with journalists on the plan, said they specifically needed the backing of the law to compliment the efforts of the relevant security agencies in apprehending bandits and the insurgents terrorizing the country.

The Akwa Ibom Command’ Commandant also informed that the group were at the National Assembly for a public hearing on a bill for an Act to establish the Nigerian Hunters Council of Nigeria.

But since the news were made public many condemned their request for recognition and assistance in tackling the insecurity alongside with Federal Government’s Security agencies, insinuating that their coming into such sensitive area may see them abusing the privilege and may also utilize such opportunity to kill innocent people or even perceived enemies in the name of fight bandits or terrorists.
