DC NNADI’s HONOUR BY ASIMIPIN, A WELL DESERVED

The saying that “Knowledge about life is one thing: effective occupation if place in life. With its dynamic currents passing through your being, is another,” William James.
Also a Keyan proverb equally says “Knowledge became wisdom only after it has been out to practical use”.
The above sayings really depicted the character and behaviour of an Igbo illustrious son, DC Dera Nnadi, the current Deputy Comptroller if Customs in charge of Tin Can Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) as captured by the publisher of News Magazine, News Emperor, Pastor Ambrose Okehi.
The publisher of News Emperor on his articulation noted that DC Nnadi as he is popularly called by many is a man that knows his job by the tip of his fingers and deserves the honour bestowed on him. 
Nnadi, pastor Okehi noted, does not just only know his job but knows it very well and deeply well too to the extent that he  more or less he has become an expert and has become instructor in the field.That means, DC Nnadi so prefer lecturing agents mostly when he sees those ignorant ones.
He also knows very much about cargo classification, processing and documentation and every other Customs procedures.
His lecturing if people and stakeholders cut across, agents, truckers, transporters, Union leaders etc. Nnadi hates seeing freight forwarders who lack knowledge of their job and and takes them on immediately.
Deputy Comptroller Nnadi is grounded in this field. DC Nnadi is a technocrat. He is a tested hand and a proud Igbo son of repute.

This is one of the reasons recently the TinCan Chapter of Association of Igbo Maritime Practitioners in Nigeria (ASIMPIN) led by Chief Charles’Taylor’Igbokei,   decided to honour DC Nnadi.
presented the Officer in Making the presentation to him in his office in Apapa, in the Enforcement Unit of the TinCan Command 
While presenting Nnadi, with an award of Excellence, they noted that it was in appreciation for his indented record throughout the period he manned the Unit.
Recalling his pass and how serious  Nnadi had discharged his precious assignments in the process of doing his job, the hairman, ASIMPIN, TinCan Chapter, Chief Charles ‘Taylor’ Igbokei described the DC as a seasoned Public Officer whose integrity and diligence to service and patriotism can not in any way be subjected to scrutiny as they are not doubtful.
The ASIMPIN Chairman TinCan Chapter, thanked DC Nnadi for being a  good example of a typical Igbo man due to his large heart and passionate commitment to duty, saying that he is a worthy Ambassador.
In his words, the National Financial Secretary of ASIMPIN and TinCan Chapter Coordinator, Hon. Isaac Ndukwe, ‘Okwadike’, eulogized DC Nnadi describing him as a great friend and brother, saying that his fatherly disposition to Freight Forwarders regardless of tribe or religion has in no doubt endeared him to a lot of people as a public officer. In his words,” at different fora where lgbo Maritime Practitioners  had been privileged to be in your audience, you have always advised against circumvention of rules  and all manner of sharp practices in carrying out our duties as Freight Forwarders. We are very proud of you sir, and we urge you to continue adding value to Nigeria Customs Service and to humanity as well”.
In his words of  appreciation, DC Dera Nnadi who is leaving TinCan Command for Idiroko, Ogun State after a three year meritorious service as Head of the Enforcement Unit, thanked ASIMIPIN for the honour saying that he has drawn more courage and strength to continue, and promised to continue adding value not only to the Igbos but to the general public in line of duty as a Public Servant. The DC advised the group to always be patriotic in their dealings by avoiding any form of infractions in their declarations saying that doing their jobs in the right way remains the only way to stay afloat as Freight Forwarders.
However, the Association also honoured the Valuation Staff Officer of Nigeria Customs, TinCan Command, CSC. Baba Kolo with an award of excellence, for his disposition as a thorough bred Officer. While presenting him with the award, ASIMPIN Chieftain,Sir Nzeribe Ebere, who was part of the delegation, described CSC. Kolo as a highly detrabalized officer who has kept distinguishing himself  by his passionate commitment to duty which is laced with an appreciable level of professionalism in the discharge of his duties as a revenue collector.
In return, DC Nnadi thanked the group for the show of love and appreciation, promising to always carry out his duties with the fear of God and with fairness to all. He advised the group to show patriotism by being compliant with the laid down rules in the course of business.
